We moved into 'Catbells' formerly known as 'The Hatch' in 1982. It was then a little bungalow in the middle of a half acre plot. Since then we have constructed 3 major extensions. First we moved into the loft space in 1989 adding a lovely galleried double bedroom en suite bathroom and dressing room. In 96 we pulled down the flat roofed single garage and car port and erected a double garage with study/bedroom above and finally in 1999 we added our lovely conservatory. Nigel did a lot of the building work himself and I learnt to be a good builder's mate.
At the same time the garden also developed beyond all original recognition, with patio, pond, greenhouse, dove cote, weather station etc. It is chiefly a woodland garden and at its best during the late Spring and early Summer, but with container planting I manage to get colour to most places of shade during the summer. It has become much admired and quite a hobby of mine over the years. We hope you will enjoy your browse through our photos.
